Dima Wannous

Dima Wannous is a Syrian author born in 1982. A student of French literature and translation at the University of Damascus and the French Sorbonne, she wrote in multiple Arab and foreign newspapers, including Al Safir, Al Hayat and The Washington Post. She managed the cultural section of the electronic magazine Modon from 2012-2014, and currently prepares and presents a cultural television show.


Dima is the author of Details (Dar al Mada, 2007), translated into German (Nautilius, 2015), and The Chair (Dar al Adab, 2009). Her most recent novel The Frightened has been acquired by international publishers for forthcoming translations into English, French, Dutch, German, Italian and Swedish.
