Mouhanned Alakouse is an award-winning Syrian author with over 150 books under his belt. His poems, short stories and novels for children and young adults tend to convey strong messages.
He worked as educator in an institute for the blind, and was inspired to write Yasmin and the Sunflower, which won the Al Multaqa Publisher Award in 2015. His Open Window won the same award in 2017.
He is also Secretary Editor for the Osama Magazine for children.
He contribute articles to publications across the Arab world as well as illustrated stories for several children’s magazines.
He currently lives in Oman.
