Prof. Nidhal Guessoum is an Algerian astrophysicist; he received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at San Diego and spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. His research focuses on gamma radiation, from the Milky Way Galaxy and from other sources in the Universe.
In addition to dozens of technical papers in top astrophysical journals, Prof. Guessoum has published extensively on issues of science, education, culture, Islam and the Arab world. He has authored or co-authored several books, most notably The Young Muslim’s Guide to Modern Science, Islam’s Quantum Question: Reconciling Muslim Tradition and Modern Science and The Story of the Universe.
He presents the science education show Ta’ammal Ma`I (Reflect with Me) on his YouTube channel, which has 55,000 subscribers.
