His first non-fiction title Death Comes Knocking was published in 2016.
Three of James’ books have been adapted as critically-acclaimed plays and James has produced numerous films, including The Merchant of Venice, starring Al Pacino.
He was Chair of the Crime Writers’ Association twice and won the Diamond Dagger Award for sustained excellence in 2016. He was voted by WHSmith readers as The Best Crime Author of All Time.
Born and brought up in Brighton, James divides his time between his homes in Notting Hill, London and Sussex.
