Simon Armitage is a poet whose work has formed part of the UK curriculum for over 20 years.

He also writes extensively for theatre, television and radio. His acclaimed translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight has sold over 100,000 copies.

His most recent collections of poetry include Paper Aeroplane – Selected Poems 1989 – 2014 and The Unaccompanied.

He is the author of three non-fiction bestsellers, All Points North, Walking Home and Walking Away. 

Armitage has won numerous accolades and awards, including a prestigious Ivor Novello Award.

He was made CBE for services to poetry in 2010 and was elected Professor of Poetry at the University of Oxford.
